Fashion Meets Music (FMM) currently on it’s European Tour, announces its collaboration with Fashion Meets Music Festival (FMMF) a Columbus Ohio based Music & Fashion Festival.
FMM was established in Los Angeles, California in
2006 to showcase emerging designers, artists and talent; followed by the
UK in 2009 to provide a platform for creatives in the form of Events,
Pop Up Shops and Workshops.
FMMF 2014 is the nations
largest and most provocative music and fashion event, fusing two
complimentary art forms as one entertainment platform. The collaboration
of FMM and FMMF will celebrate both art forms, fostering a lifestyle of
self expression, unboxed in one location Columbus, Ohio, Labor Day
Weekend August 29th-31st.
FMM
UK will import its experience and expertise to the United States with an
array of music and designer talent, bringing an international flavor to
the FMMF marketplace, which will showcase local, regional, national and
now international brands.
The festival, featuring seven indoor and outdoor
stages, two fashion performance stages complete with runways, an urban
campground, and a fashion and music retail marketplace located in the
Columbus Convention Center, will make its appearance in the epicenter of
the Arena District; Home to Nationwide Arena, the LC Pavilion,
Huntington Park, Nationwide Boulevard, and McFerson Commons – all of
which are poised to participate in the unique festival.
The strategy is to assemble a premier line-up of
emerging artists and national musical acts along with fashion models,
designers, and retail brand names – mixing design, style, song and soul
for three continuous days, celebrating the fusion of fashion and music.
While 250 musical acts will perform on the campus in adjacent arenas and venues, as well as playing intimate shows in many Short North “hub spots,” 300 leading vendor brands
in the fashion and music industries will populate a 118,000 square foot
retail presence, producing a fashion and music marketplace. A dedicated
runway inside the Convention Center will showcase the blend of the two
art forms.
In addition to music and fashion, Nationwide
Boulevard from High Street to Neil Avenue will be transformed into a
streetscape of various cuisine and beverage selections; complete with
gourmet food trucks, aerial zip lines, and one of North America’s
largest Gondolas, towering 100 feet tall.
Created by music and fashion insiders, the Festival
hopes to help brand Columbus as the Midwest’s music and retail fashion
leader, much like Austin has been crowned an emerging music mecca and
showcase for new talent development, due to its 27 year run with their
popular SXSW Festival.
